GCI Launches 5G in Unalaska
After a $4.9 million investment, GCI has turned up 5G mobile service in the city of Unalaska, Alaska, while also launching voice over LTE mobile service. Residents in Unalaska now have the benefits of 5G mobile connectivity on top of 2.5 Gbps internet speeds that rolled out in late 2022.

CTIA Identifies Three Spectrum Bands for 5G
The U.S. is on a hunt for greenfield spectrum for commercial use, and a new Accenture study has identified three bands that could be prime targets. The study, commissioned by CTIA, laid out three blocks with the strongest potential to support 5G services.
